"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles which he loved and which you love also, and those ideals which made him glorious and which you also cherish."

Black Powder Shoot & Picnic

The Thomas C. Hindman Camp and the Fontaine R. Earle Camp held what will now be an annual blackpowder shoot and picnic at the T. C. Hindman shooting range on Saturday the 7th of May. The weather was superb and attendance was excellent, especially considering the event was held the Saturday before Mother's Day. With smoked brisket, pork loin, and chicken and trays full of veggies and cobblers, there was little chance the event would not be a success. It is a great opportunity to get to know the folks in other Camps in an informal setting and we all look forward to next year's shoot/picnic.
