Thomas C. Hindman Camp #656, Prairie Grove, Arkansas
"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles which he loved and which you love also, and those ideals which made him glorious and which you also cherish."
Lt. General Stephen Dill Lee, Commander General, United Confederate Veterans, New Orleans, Louisiana, April 25, 1906

The day we as SCV members have been working toward for the past year has arrived. The Thomas C. Hindman Camp #656 is no longer 'Charter Pending'. Our charter has been approved by the Arkansas Division and SCV International Headquarters and the Certificate of Charter is in the mail to us. Though the road to reactivating this Camp that was deactivated years ago has been long and even discouraging at times, we have persevered. Over the past year we have been very active in the Northwest Arkansas community and have made many friends for not only our Camp, but for our Southern Heritage. I am proud of all our members for their dedication to the Cause and their work to share the truth about the Confederacy with their fellow citizens.
