The first half of August has been very rewarding for our Camp. On the 7th we did our first Grave Dedications as a Color Guard and, thanks to the support and leadership of Paskell Griffith of the Fontaine R. Earle Camp, they were done without any major mistakes. The families of the fallen Confederate heroes were visibaly moved by the event and extremely appreciative. This type of event is one of the major reasons for our existance as an organization and it was an honor to be part of it. The following weekend we had our last monthly Confederate encampment of the summer at the Prairie Grove Battlefield Park. We were joined by four men from the Earle Camp and enjoyed drilling and interacting with the many Park visitors, in spite of the heat. We are now preparing for the upcoming events of September, which looks to be our busiest month of the year as a Camp.
