"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles which he loved and which you love also, and those ideals which made him glorious and which you also cherish."

Confederate Cemetery Workday

Here's a picture of our guys from the workday on March 6 at the Confederate Cemetery in Fayetteville as they helped to remove the giant green ash tree that had fallen on the wall there. The workday was organized by the Southern Memorial Association and there were reporters from the local news present. Check out the report in the Northwest Arkansas news which includes a video of the men at work.

This was the state's largest green ash tree and many locals turned out to take home a piece of history and made donations to the Southern Memorial Association. In all, the Southern Memorial Association received donations of $281 which will be used for repairing the damaged wall.

Our guys were all too busy working to mingle much with the media, but our presence was noted and much appreciated by the folks in the SMA and UDC. Thanks to all for the hard work!

Deo Vindice!
